Haleaeetus pelagicus

Steller’s sea eagle (Haliaeetus pelagicus) is a large, diurnal bird of prey in the family Accipitridae. A sturdy eagle, it displays dark brown plumage with white wings and tail. Meanwhile, it’s yellow beak and talons stand out against its somber background.

On average, it is the heaviest eagle in the world, at about 5 to 9 kg (11 to 20 lb).

This eagle lives in coastal northeastern Asia. There, it mainly preys on fish and water birds. In particular, this bird congregates on the Kamchatka Peninsula in Far Eastern Russia. Over 4,000 shelter in this one, remote area.
