Islands at the Edge
Located just north of the Antarctic region, this area of the planet translates roughly to a latitude of between 46° and 60° south of the Equator. Not many people live in this part of the world. That’s because the region is mostly ocean, with only scattered, chilly islands for land.
Here, the Indian, Atlantic and Pacific oceans meet. Glaciers dominate several islands, allowing proper conditions for penguins to roam.
Some best islands to photograph in this area are McCourey, Campbell, Auckland islands. Here, king penguins and royal penguins find a home to rear their young. While albatross circle overhead, keeping watch.
