Mount Baker

The Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest is a national forest in western Washington. This park extends more than 140 miles (230 km) along the western slopes of the Cascade Range, from the Canada–US border to the northern boundary of Mount Rainier National Park.

In addition to Mt. Baker itself, this park contains many scenic and historical points of interest. Here, mountain tops gradually rise from 5,000 to 6,000 feet (1,500 to 1,800 m) on the south end of the forest to 7,000 to 8,000 feet (2,100 to 2,400 m) in the north. Meanwhile, who tall volcanoes, Mount Baker and Glacier Peak, tower thousands of feet above the adjacent ridges.

This forest is home to more glaciers and snow fields than any other national forest outside Alaska. Because of this, trickles of springtime runoff water fields of wildflowers as far as the eye can see.
